Apartment Review for The Lofts At Canal Walk - Richmond, VA

I must say, I was told by management that the reviews were because of previous management and I had nothing to worry about. They are all very sweet, friendly and eager to help you find your new home. I had people by the pool tell me to run, but I thought it looked nice and management seemed nice so why not rent here? MISTAKE NUMBER 1 - Now that it has started to heat up the smell of sewage fills my apartment, if you want an idea of how horrible it smells, stand on the corner of 19th and Cary, close your eyes, imagine you are standing in your apartment and take a deep breath. I have heard from tenants who live around me, that by mid summer I will be gagging. I have problems with having hot water long enough to take a five minute shower. As soon as I was finished with my move in process and signing all the necessary documents, I have not been able to get ahold of management in the dozen plus times I have walked up to their office. Yesterday there was a tour bus, blocking in my car parked on the street and I couldn't find the bus driver. Then I walked in to find management and all these strangers were walking around the pool area unsupervised and asking another tenant if they could take a look at their apartment. I only say this so you don't think that because it says "Gated" that means ANYTHING. It doesnt! In fact, I have seen people pull the gates open because they are just magnet. I could go on and on, when I have been here barely a month. The only reason I write this, is to warn all others that the reviews they are reading are real, I already HATE living here and am hoping to find a way out of me lease before I am stuck here for a year. (Now I understand why I saw so many sublets online) :-( WISH I WOULD HAVE LISTENED.
