Apartment Review for Staples Mill Townhomes - Richmond, VA

I have never been so upset with a rental property. I should have been hesitant when i signed my lease and Matt (the leasing agent) wanted to reschedule an appointment that I had made a week in advance because he was "too busy". No one hears cares about the tenents at all. The price is good on the apartments I will give them that but if you move in here you had better hope that there is NOTHING wrong in your apartment because trying to get anything fixed here is IMPOSSIBLE! The maintance staff here is nice but actually getting the management to take a complaint seriously is impossible. I have had a water leak and a gas leak in the apartment (which management keeps telling us are considered emergenicies in there little monthly memo to residence) and it took 3 days to get either problem looked at and then minimal work was done just to shut me up. I am just waiting to get out of here. The office has just been renevated and looks so nice but the apartments are much less favorable- especially for a family with kids. The walls have mold growing behind them that no one seems to care about. The doors and windows all have leaks which caused a major ant issue at the beginning of the summer for us. Half the outlets in the houses dont work. Half of us dont have screen doors on our back porches and there is always trash in the yards. Parking is ok for us but there are teens hanging out in the parking lots just walking by and hitting cars whenever they feel like it and guest parking is almost impossible after 3pm. There are some people who arent having problems here and they must know someone in higher places and be living with them- because the staff treats the rest of us like crap. If you need a cheap place to go and you dont have kids then this place could work for you, but dont expect to get any help from management once they have you signed into that contract.
