Apartment Review for Staples Mill Townhomes - Richmond, VA

CAREFULLY CONSIDER BEFORE YOU SIGN A LEASE WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! Effective May 1, 2005 ALL units will have basic cable whether you want it or not and ALL units will be charged an additional $34 per month rent for said cable. That equals $408 a year extra for something you may or may not want. PRG acquired this property last August shortly before Tropical Storm Gaston blew in and devastated Richmond. We should have read the signs as a bad omen!! These people are out to make as much money as they can on the backs of their tenants! Look out before you sign a lease because the lease reserves the right to increase your rent during the term of your lease as long as they give you 75 days notice! You think when you sign a lease you are locked in at a rate for a year?? INCORRECTOMUNDO MY FRIEND!! These folks could (and probably willl) think of every devious way they can to jack your rent up $100 in the space of a year if they can! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!BEWARE!!! I have lived here for many, many years and seen many, many management companies come and go and have NEVER experienced a company as devious and devoid of concern for their tenants as this one!! STAY AWAY!!!!The sad thing is that the community is nice, but this management companies policies are going to force many tenants to move away, me included. The neighborhood had some problems with boisterous tenants and drugs in the past, but that was corrected by the past owners and it really has become a pleasant place, where kids can play freely outside without worry.
