Apartment Review for River City Apt - Richmond, VA

BEWARE!!!!!! This was the company from which I rented an apartment for 1 and 1/2 years. Throughout that time, I was charged MULTIPLE fees for "rent received late", which absolutely was NOT late (I dropped it off at the office MYSELF!). Upon moving out, they claimed I left a sofa in the apartment, and charged me at $75 "removal fee"- I did not own a sofa, and that apartment was completely spotless and empty when I left it. They also charged fees for keys I did not return to them- I copied those keys MYSELF because they told me they didn't have a key for me to have, so it was certainly not a key that they were entitled to. Whenever I call to speak to someone, they talk down to me, tell me that I "need to be a grown-up" in a belittling tone (as if the words aren't belittling enough!) and hang up on me (I have been hung up on every time I have ever called with a dispute on these charges- they will just send you bills in the mail at random! And these are people you are RENTING FROM). They have hung up on my family members. Now they are threatening to take me to court, or seize money from my bank account and the like, if I don't pay them $80 (I no longer live in their apartment and they kept my entire deposit for these bogus fees such as the ones I told you about). This business is an absolute SCAM and I cannot WAIT to take legal action against them! I hope the entire city of Richmond learns about their evil ways and BOYCOTTS THIS BUSINESS!
