Apartment Review for River City Apt - Richmond, VA

I am currently a resident of one of the River City estates. I have had so many issues within a time period of 6 months. First of all it is not very safe, I am a single female, a student and I live alone. One night, there was a man sleeping on the front stairwell that leads to all of the apartments in the building. This man was dressed in all black, and he was blocking entry. There was no way to go around him, and out of fear for my safety I did not want to step over him. I notified the leasing office and wondered why the lock on the front door had been removed, and it was obviously to save THEM money. Another time I had to pay 100$ to a VERY RUDE man in order to get him to take my car off of a tow truck. That was towing my car from a parking lot that I PAID and had a PERMIT to park in! but because they want to make the most profits, they sell more permits than available parking, so when you come home you dont have ANYWHERE to park! (even though you have paid a monthly fee for a parking space) 3. They are charging me a fee for maintenance repairs on issues and elements of the apartment which were already dysfunctional when I had originally moved in! I even provided proof and the original apartment checklist that was sent to them with repairs when I 1st moved in. Once seeing that I have been getting the run around about who I contact to handle this matter. They keep giving me this BOGUS email address, which noone EVER replies to! All in All they are awful! The facilities are gross! Its smells like dog poop, and looks a mess! everything is OLD and DIRTY. or BROKEN. drains are CLOG, pipes LEAK, garbage disposals dont work! and then with the coldest months ever, There are major drafts that come through the windows because they are so old and the surrounding wood is chiseling away! and do you think the River City Real estate office and its personnel cares! Hell no! and when I tried to get out of the lease, they are sending you on the run around to not be required to renew it!!!!! JUST TERRIBLE!!! THIS IS A WARNING! PLEASE BEWARE!
