Apartment Review for Raven Place - Richmond, VA

I have lived here since it first opened. The management is terrible. They lose checks, and expect the tenant to be responsible for the late fee, they never communicate about anything until the last minute, and care only about money not about treating the tenants fairly. The apartment is OK. There were some kinks in the beginning, but most of them have been worked out. I live on the cement-floor side of the building and there seem to be more problems on that side. There is always a terrible smell in the building (maintainence told me it was backed up sewage). I have seen bugs on multiple occasions in the complex and once even in my apartment (I'm a pretty clean person). The apartment itself has no ventilation, and the windows in the bedroom leak. So in the winter, the bedroom never gets warm and the electric bill is through the roof. The internet sucks and the wireless does not work in all parts of my apartment. It is definitely not safe. Someone's car was broken into in the parking garage and there are random people who don't live in the building always knocking on my door. The only good thing I can think of living here is that maintenence is pretty fast. They usually come within 24 hours of making a request. This place is definitely overpriced and there are better places to live downtown.
