Apartment Review for Parachute Factory - Richmond, VA

I moved here trying to save a few bucks a month, but in the 9 months that I've been here we've had several assaults on people walking to their cars, a felony burglary, and people's dogs crapping on the walkway in front of the main entrance. I love the floor plans and the building, but the tenants here treat this place like dirt, leaving trash in the stairways and dog poo throughout the building. On top of that, as beautiful as the hardwood floors are, the fact that the 3rd floor's hardwood floors are directly over my apartment's bedrooms leaves me awake most nights at 2am, listening to someone play with their dog and talk to their friends and just walk around the apartment (I'm a pretty heavy sleeper too). Maintenance isn't too reliable either. They charge $50 for air filters and any NORMAL maintenance that is covered at other apartment buildings (check out American Tobacco Center, EXCELLENT Leasing office and apartments). They charged us $25 to put draino down the tub drain and it was still clogged a week later. This happened less than a month after I moved in. I feel that this apt could be so much better (the apartments really are beautiful), hopefully the leasing office straightens their act out and starts enforcing the rules regarding trash, noise, and pets. I wouldn't live here again (am moving out soon) until that happens.
