Apartment Review for Legacy At Mayland - Richmond, VA

I lived in Legacy for 2.5 years. The place itself is very nice, but way overpriced. The closets were big, the master bathroom was wonderful (I had a 2bd/2ba unit with a garden tub). The kitchen was fully equipped. The layout of the living room was a little awkward, but I worked with it. The pool was a nice feature to have. The "gym" is laughable. I do have several complaints. One is the price. Waaayy overpriced. I now own a house (a nice 3bd, 2/5ba in the same area) and pay just as much for my mortgage as I did in rent! It was ridiculous. Parking was not convenient. Each apt is assigned only 1 spot, doesn't matter how many people live there. Luckily I lived alone so I didn't have to worry about sharing a spot with a roommate. If you plan on having a roommate or more than 1 car, good luck! Visitor's parking was scarce. Having visitors was a pain because there was never any place for them to park. My AC flooded and quit working in my apartment SEVERAL times the first summer I lived there. It did it again the following summer until one of the maintenance people finally realized the problem. The flooding damaged the carpet and flooring, which they charged ME for when I moved out! I couldn't stop the flooding because the AC unit is behind a locked door that only the maintenance people have access to. The staff was not very helpful when I was moving out. I owed a balance that my deposit didn't cover (to pay for the flooring the flooding caused!). They also charged me for every single little minute detail, it was ridiculous. I mailed in a check before the deadline they gave me. They deposited the check, no problem. Two weeks later I got a call from a creditor. They had reported me to a debt collector, saying I never paid my balance! I called to fix this, their response was "oops, sorry." Overall, the place was nice, a bit too expensive, and the staff was not helpful. I am glad to be out of that place and done with those people!
