Apartment Review for Kingly Ones - Richmond, VA

I was not a resident of the complex, however if the way they handle their applicants is indicative of the way they treat their tenants then I'm glad I wasn't! I applied for an apartment on July 2nd, submitting a $30 application fee and a $100 reservation fee (that's right, without even knowing if I was approved or not!) and understood that I would have to wait over the holiday weekend to find out whether or not I'd been accepted. That monday afternoon, I called to inquire about my status and was told to wait a few more days. By that wednesday I was sure I'd know something, however I was wrong. I received the runaround for the next week and a half, each day calling and being told that I'd know something "by the end of the day". Soon, that turned into "by the end of the week". Finally, on JULY 16TH, I received a call informing me that I was not approved for the apartment. When I told them I'd be there at the end of the day, she told me that I couldn't and that I'd have to wait until the next day to pick up MY MONEY!!! That was the last straw! Nevermind the fact that I was made to wait TWO WEEKS to find out the status of my application, but the fact that I was not allowed to retrieve $100 of MY money (money that I could have been using to apply for other apartments during that TWO WEEKS) was IMMENSELY frustrating. Something should be done about that.
