Apartment Review for 10 S Boulevard - Richmond, VA

Larry and Barbara Hollister owners of the property 10 S Boulevard fail to maintain their properties to the city code for rental units and have poor customer relations skills. During my time renting from these landlords the heat they control has been well below the mandated 65 degrees and my unit suffers from ongoing water damage. This unit features a cast iron bathtub with 3 metal legs and 1 wooden leg which has fallen over twice resulting in malfunctioning plumbing. The landlord’s handyman claims that it’s normal for a bathtub to leak water onto the floor and there’s nothing he can do. The owner has been cited by the city for dangerous fire escapes that were plagued by termites and decay, jerrybuilt with an automobile tire jack holding it up. Termites have been seen in our basement swarming from the walls and deteriorated wood is seen all around the structure. When asked to remedy problems the property owner becomes abusive and dismissive and tells tenants that if they don’t like it they can “just move out.” Do yourself a favor and never move in!
